Background
Lee graduated with First Class Honours in Sports Rehabilitation & Injury Prevention, and has been involved in sport for most of his life. He enjoys helping sports participants to get on the road to recovery. He offers a holistic approach enabling the whole treatment plan to also be encompassed by the professionals he works with. The aim is to get the sports participant back to their chosen sport as soon as possible, as well as performing at a higher level than before the injury.
Experience:
Having taught physical education for 16 years Lee has obtained many coaching qualifications ranging from football to level 5 gymnastic club coach. With these skills and knowledge and sustaining many of his own sporting injuries gave him the desire to work in this area. Having been involved in Rugby Union since 2000 as a sports therapist and club fitness coach, Lee progressed from local club level (UK) to county, regional and south England. On his arrival to Dubai last year Lee was asked by the Arabian Gulf RFC to provide sport therapy during their Asian 5 Nations (World cup qualifying campaign) along with their medical team. Lee is an accredited 100% Me tutor with the English RFU which works closely with WADA (World Anti Doping Agency) to eradicate the use of illegal performance enhancing drugs by athletes.
For a short period after teaching Physical Education Lee became a part time lecturer teaching Sport and Exercise Science and assisting the delivery of the Sport Rehabilitation and injury prevention course at a London University. Whist working at the University Lee gained lots of experience working in the Human Performance Laboratory, testing various athletic populations for their VO2 Max, Isokinetic strength and force velocity relationships within muscle groups. The highlight of this period was working with International Mauy Thai boxers from the UK and developing their power output through the knee, kick and punch by utilizing the muscles within the lower leg.
Lee has worked for many global sporting events away from rugby such as the London Marathon, Iron man, Tour de France (England section), the V8 super car motor racing charity events both local and national.
Interests
Lee enjoys travelling, sightseeing and bringing up his children. He has a big passion for football and rugby, loves to keep fit in the gym and running. Having completed many marathons and four ultra marathons, the three peak challenge (UK). Has a passion to educate people about sport injuries and ways to improve their fitness levels.
